Wilfried Zaha has told his agent of his ‘desire to end their relationship’ after he failed to secure him a move from Crystal Palace this summer.
Zaha outlined his wish to join a Champions League club after a second stint at Palace lasting five successful years.
The winger explained his reasoning back in April but by September he remained at Selhurst Park, with interest from Arsenal, Everton, Borussia Dortmund and more going no further.
As a result, The Times say Zaha ‘has told his agent that he wants to terminate their contract,’ even bringing his relationship with Palace chairman Steve Parish into the argument.
It is said that Will Salthouse ‘has been informed in writing of Zaha’s desire to end their relationship’.
The FA have been told of a ‘dispute’ between the two parties. Zaha is said to have been displeased that the agency Salthouse represents, USM, played a key role in securing Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s own move from Palace, while failing to do the same for Zaha.
The Times report that ‘there are strong connections between Salthouse and Parish,’ with both ‘known to invest in the same businesses’.
The decision ‘would suggest that he has no desire to remain at Selhurst Park’. It also explains what that “beef” was.
