Newcastle are willing to pay €30m (£26m) in their attempts to sign Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot, according to reports, who has been heavily linked with a move to Man Utd.
Rabiot moved to Turin from Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer last summer but, having started only 11 Serie A games under manager Maurizio Sarri, reports have indicated that he could move on in the next transfer window.
Indeed, the Frenchman has reportedly go on strike after having his wages cut and it has been claimed that his mother and agent, Veronique, has been in contact with Man Utd over a deal.

According to Calciomercato, however, Newcastle have now entered the fray and have conducted significant groundwork into a move for Rabiot.
The source claims that they are willing to offer £26million and hand him a pay rise as part of his contract, with Newcastle’s potential wealthy new owners set to bankroll the move.
However, it is also said that Newcastle are wary of Everton’s interest, with Toffees boss Carlo Ancelotti reportedly in negotiations with the midfielder.
Rabiot has a strong working relationship with Ancelotti, having been handed his first start for Paris Saint-Germain by the Italian in 2012.
The midfielder has made 24 appearances in all competitions this season, including four in the Champions League.
Juventus’ last game in Europe’s elite competition saw them lose 1-0 to Lyon in the first leg of the last 16 tie between the sides in February, prior to the suspension of football across the continent.
