Paul Pogba ‘has been left shocked’ after losing his place in Manchester United’s starting line-up.
Pogba started all but one of United’s first 14 Premier League games, sitting out the Manchester derby defeat in November due to injury.
The Frenchman has also started four of five Champions League games, and will feature heavily in Wednesday’s dead-rubber against Valencia.
But he has lost his place in recent weeks, coming on as a substitute against Arsenal and not even being afforded that courtesy in Saturday’s win over Fulham.
He is our player to watch this midweek as a result, as he looks to regain the trust of his manager.
The Guardian say that while Pogba is aware he and Jose Mourinho do not see eye to eye, he ‘did not expect to be left out of the XI’ at any point.
He was therefore ‘shocked’ to be omitted, but ‘has decided to keep his counsel and train as normal’ instead of creating a problem.
If his absence from the starting line-up continues, however, things may come to a head.
