Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho has confirmed his club want to offer Eric Dier a new deal.
The England international is out of contract at the end of next season and has impressed in Mourinho’s defence in the first two games of the Premier League restart.
“My boss Mr Levy (Spurs chairman Daniel) tells me that he wants Eric to sign a new contract and Eric tells me that he is more than happy here, he is more than happy with his situation,” Mourinho said.

“I hope that they can find an agreement, because I am taking the team in a certain direction.”
A report in April claimed that West Ham were ‘monitoring’ developments regarding his future, with but a year left on his contract in north London.
Dier joined Tottenham on a five-year deal in 2014 but signed an extension to that same effect in 2016 with a pay rise. He is one of precious few peak age first-team players not to sign long-term deals recently, meaning Premier League rivals are starting to circle.
