Romelu Lukaku is concerned that a potential move to Inter Milan could collapse over Manchester United’s valuation, according to reports.
Lukaku has recently dropped down the pecking order at Old Trafford with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer sometimes preferring to play Marcus Rashford as the club’s main striker.
The Times reported on Thursday that Antonio Conte wants to make the Belgium international his first signing as the new Inter Milan boss.
It is widely expected that Conte will take over from Luciano Spalletti with reports claiming he could be appointed as soon as next weekend.
However, the Daily Mirror claims that the two clubs are some way apart in their valuation of the player with Lukaku ‘worried’ that it could spell the end to a potential move.
The Serie A giants were hoping to wrap up a deal ‘in the region of £50million’ with Lukaku earning wages of £175,000-a-week.
Lukaku joined United from Everton for £75million in 2017 and the Red Devils’ executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward believes his value ‘has not substantially decreased’ since then.
The 26-year-old has scored 42 goals in 96 appearances in all competitions for the Red Devils with 15 of those coming in the current campaign.
The Daily Mirror adds: ‘Woodward wants a figure closer to £70million to part with Belgium’s record scorer’.
