Ryan Kent has taken to Instagram to a not-so-subtle expression of his frustration over Liverpool’s handling of his future.
The winger spent last season on loan at Rangers and Steven Gerrard is keen to extend to arrangement into the new campaign.
Leeds were also hoping to bring Kent to West Yorkshire last week but Liverpool’s unwillingness to sanction another loan deal and their £12million valuation of the 22-year-old has left the player in limbo.
Kent has previously used social media to vent his frustration over Liverpool’s stance and he has again, quoting the bible in a thinly-veiled dig at the Champions League winners.
He posted a passage from St Peter which reads: “And through covetousness shall they with fiend words make merchandise of you: whose judgement now of a long time lingered not, and their damnation slumbereth not”.
The Daily Record have helpfully translated that into more modern parlance: “In their greed teachers will exploit you with fabricated stories. Their condemnation has long been hanging over them, and their destruction has not been sleeping.”
