Liverpool forward Sadio Mane is not a transfer target for Real Madrid, according to Guillem Balague.
The Senegal international has been linked with the Spanish giants following Zinedine Zidane’s return as manager last week.
France Football claimed on Tuesday that there is concrete interest in Mane from Real and Zidane wants him at the end of the season.
Real’s pursuit of Mane was said to be ‘very advanced’ last year before Zidane decided to resign after their Champions League triumph.
However, Balague, who is a Spanish football expert, doesn’t believe Mane is on Real’s shopping list this summer.
“[Is Sadio Mane a Real Madrid target?] No,” Balague said.
“Their intention is to get a striker, but there’s no money at the moment.”
The Spaniards will reportedly give Zidane a huge sum of money to invest in his playing squad in the summer, with players at Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester United, Manchester City and Tottenham all linked.
